Crib Danger

During labor and delivery class, I feel like all you hear about is SIDS.  It is actually kind of scary and I remember constantly checking on Oscar after he was born just to make sure he was breathing.  One recommendation we kept hearing was to not put bumpers in the crib.  So when I got the bumpers (which came with the bedding set), I made them into wall art and left the crib open for good breathing air.  Little did I know that a crib without bumpers is just as dangerous.  These photos were taken in the morning.

4 Month Photos

Oscar is 4 months old already!  Can't believe it.  Today he got his 4 month shots and we found out he weighs 13 lbs. 3 oz. and is 24.7 inches long.  His head is close to the 50th percentile in size.  HA!  I think it is hilarious they give you that statistic.

Our friend Adam took a few 4 month Oscar pics for us.  Oscar wasn't being very photogenic when they were being taken but some how Adam managed to get some great shots.

My First Easter

Happy Easter everyone!  Today was a special day not only because we were able to celebrate Christ's resurrection from the dead, but also because Oscar got to meet his Great Grandpa Delmar for the first time.  The following are a few photos from today's festivities.
Oscar getting ready for church.

Oscar kicks it with Great Grandpa Delmar.

Grandma Deb snaps a photo of our little family.

And since we are on the topic of Easter, I would be remiss if I forgot to tell you about Oscar's Easter Basket from Grandma and Grandpa Kunze.

The Oscars

A few weeks back we thought it was only natural that Oscar should throw an Oscar party.  The guest list was extensive: Aunt Nicole, Grandma Kunze, Ryan, Jenny McCuen, Oscar and myself.  It was only fitting that we have an awards presentation for each of Oscar's guests.  Thus, we each won an 'Oscar'.  After the awards presentation, the party got crazy with a wild game of Mexican Train Dominoes.  Oscar really knows how to entertain.

The Baby Bjorn

Last week, Ryan's coworker Karmen gave us their Baby Bjorn.  I think those things are pretty expensive so it was just a great gift.  We of course had to try it out.  Ha!  Not 5 minutes into it, Oscar had spit all the way down the side (what I expected).  Ha!  So I think we will keep the Baby Bjorn in the closet for a bit until Oscar's digestive system develops a little more.

Roarbert

Oscar got a wonderful stuffed lion from his Grandma Barb and Aunt Theresa.  His name is Roarbert and Oscar and him have become fast friends.  Maybe it's their similarity in size or it could be the fact that they each enjoy staring into space or it could be because they both smell like baby powder (I forgot to mention that Roarbert is a Scentsy Pet).

Bakin with Mom

Yesterday Oscar helped Mom bake a cake for Dave and Sarah Bierce and new baby Eleanor, yet another gal friend.  Oscar was a natural in the kitchen.
This is Oscar getting me a 1/4 of a tsp. of spit up.

This is the cake after Oscar ate half of it.  Thankfully we had enough left over to deliver to the Bierces.

Doing Things Together

One of the greatest blessings the Lord has given us over the past few years, is the opportunity to live life with our friends Kristy and Adam.  Kristy and I went to the same high school but it wasn't until the summer of 2006 that we became friends.  At that time, we both committed to helping start the Downtown Church which was a really big step for both of us.  We both started dating our future husbands around the same time in 2007, then Ry and I got engaged in January of 2008, them to follow in February.  We got married in September of 2008, them in October.  Then in December, Oscar came and shortly after in February, little Amaia came to join us.  I just cannot express how thankful I am to have had a friend to talk to during all those life changes.

The following are two of my very favorite pictures.

We've Got a Little Talker & an Excellent Coach

Great Aunt Char came to visit tonight and she always does a fantastic job of getting Oscar to tell us a story.  Thank you Aunt Char!!

Generations of Weeks

Last Saturday we had the opportunity to go visit Great Grandpa and Grandma Weeks.  Many gifts were involved along with lots of food and bunny decorations.  Oscar made his debut as the youngest of 4 generations of Weeks males.  Check it out.
Great Grandpa Lyle, Ryan, Oscar, Grandpa Ron . . . and lots of bunnies

And we can't forget about Great Grandma Katherene.  She is the brains behind the bunny madness.

So Many Friends, So So Thankful

Over the last month, Oscar has had the privilege of spending time with some of his new friends.  Currently, most of them are girls, but he's just such a sweet boy, they just can't stay away.

I know what you're thinking . . . yes, I'm blogging

Yes, I created a blog.  Yes, Julie Weeks created a blog.  Yes, I still hate writing.  Yes, I am thinking clearly.  After many conversations with Kristy Horning, I decided she was right in that creating a blog is an excellent way to document the life of little Oscar.  So, hopefully very few will read this blog.  In fact, I have no plans to publicly announce my new blog . . . maybe just to grandma.  If anyone finds out about this blog, well it's not because I told them to read it.  Please ignore all typos, miss spellings and poor grammar choices.  As listed above, I really hate writing.
